Message from the new Headmaster (January 2017)
Further to the announcement by the Governing Body in December that I would take up the reins as Headmaster of Ratcliffe College from 1st January, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and sincerely thank Mr Gareth Lloyd for his significant contribution to the School community. As you know, he was instrumental in a whole host of exciting developments here at Ratcliffe, including the building of the Preparatory School, the second all-weather pitch and new synthetic running track, as well as a significantly increased school roll. The Ratcliffe community is most grateful to him for his energy and drive over the past seven years, and for all that he has helped the School to achieve during his tenure as Headmaster. We wish him and his family well for the future as he prepares to embrace new opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
On a personal note, I would like to thank so many of you who have passed words of congratulation and support since the announcement of my appointment as Headmaster. Your kind words of encouragement continue to inspire me in my new role. It is indeed an honour and a privilege to take on the mantle of Headmaster here at Ratcliffe College amongst such a hard-working, talented and professional group of teachers and a support staff team that show such dedication to the College. I am very excited about my new role and the opportunities which lie ahead leading this wonderful community over the coming years, as we endeavour to do our very best for the young people in our care, and fulfilling the School’s motto, Legis Plenitudo Charitas.
I look forward to meeting some of you at the forthcoming London OR Dinner and over the coming months and years at various school and Old Ratcliffian events.
With very best wishes for the New Year.
