Thank you to all the Parents and Old Ratcliffians who supported the Ratcliffe Reception in Madrid last week at the wonderful Hotel Wellington. The aim of the event was to bring together all those people connected with Ratcliffe who live in or near Madrid. The event was a great success and we hope this is the first of many events in Spain’s lovely capital city.
The event included seven Old Ratcliffians from Madrid including Antonio Gil-Casares and Ricardo Muñoz who had attended Ratcliffe way back in 1989 and had not met up for 27 years. At one point Antonio got out his whole school photograph to see who they could still recognise.
Unfortunately their classmate Joaquin Peris-Lopez, who had hoped to make the event, was unable to attend. However, Antonio did receive a round of applause from the assembled crowd for remembering and reciting his entire class list from 27 years ago!!
A big thank you also to the current and recent Madrid based parents who attended the event. Many of them have children who attend Ratcliffe currently or have left recently, and it was lovely to see them coming along to meet other Madrid based Ratcliffians.
One of the most recent leavers, Alejandra, is seen here with Mrs Joanna Leite, the Head of Girls’ Boarding at Ratcliffe.
On behalf of Joanna Leite and myself a big thank you to all the Parents and Old Ratcliffians who helped with our arrangements and for making the trip so successful.
